TRAINING GRANTS
Training grants are available to all Massachusetts businesses and are offered through the Workforce Training Fund Program. The WTFP focuses on small to mid-size businesses that would not be able to offer training without assistance. The purpose of the program is to provide resources to improve employee skills and maintain the economic strength and viability of Massachusetts businesses. Workforce development is a critical and necessary component to every successful business plan. We encourage you to take advantage of these programs to train your current and newly hired employees.
GENERAL PROGRAM
The General Program distributes approximately $18 million in training grants each year. Eligible Massachusetts employers can receive up to $250,000 in funds to upskill their newly hired or current employees. Companies of any size with a workforce in Massachusetts are eligible to apply. While the WTFP funds the majority of training content, they do not replace private investment (such as OSHA training) they are strictly supplemental.
You may use a training provider of your choice and work with them to select courses that will be the most beneficial to your organization. Training grants are available for all courses offered by LESS.
Grant applications are received and approved on a rolling basis. Once awarded you must complete the Training program within two years.

EXPRESS PROGRAM
Massachusetts businesses of any size are eligible to apply for an Express Grant. Grant funds are limited to $30,000 per company per calendar year and $3,000 per employee per course.
You must use an approved training provider and select pre-approved training courses from the Express Course Directory. LESS is an approved training provider and our entire training course catalog is part of the Express Course Directory for your selection.
Upon completion of an approved course, you may request from the WTFP a reimbursement of up to 50% of the actual cost of training if you have over 100 employees and up to 100% if you have less than 100 employees.
